Random Thoughts...

This has been a beautiful week.

Sunshine everyday.. and I have received happy mail almost every day on my doorstep.

It's made my week for sure-- feel like a Birthday week!

I am Grateful.

Other things that have made my week even better...

Spring cleaning!

Last night I had some extra ( I don't know where it came from ) energy.. and made 2 loaves of Banana Bread, cleaned out my oven, wiped down my cupboards ( inside and out )  and cleaned out my refrigerator.

Oh the goodness it feels to have a sparkling clean kitchen.

And it made it even better.. that  after all of that cleaning...Chad sent me to a hot bath.. and cleaned and mopped the floor for me.

I walked into my sparkling clean kitchen this morning.. and I felt so good and Happy.

Seriously..  I swear by going to bed with a clean kitchen and sink.

I always have.

That way.. you wake up and start new and fresh.

The only chore to do is unload the Dishwasher.

I picked up these Vintage Disney Place mats at the Vintage Whites Market.

I love that they wipe so clean.. and if the kids spill on it -- which happens every time they eat.. I don't have to put it in the washing machine.  I loathe cloth placemats with children.

Bonus---um..HELLO.. I love that they are Disney.

My kids have loved using them when we eat...

The Boy Scouts of America gave every leader and boy one of these Bracelets to wear to celebrate 100 years of Scouting.  With this bracelet -- it is supposed to remind us to do one good deed a day for 100 days.

Challenge accepted.

I love to Serve.. and apparently so do the boys in my den... because I couldn't get them to go home last night.  They wanted to keep picking up trash around the church all night.

I love serving and working with the boys.  I still -- don't understand all of the merit badge and arrow point stuff.. and I'm sure by the time I FULLY understand scouting.. that's when they will release me.

Isn't that always how it goes?

Onward.. ever onward.

A few weeks ago.. Chad and I went and saw the new  Nicholas Sparks movie "Safe Haven."

I don't read Mr. Sparks books.. so I had no idea what this movie was about -- other than it's from one of my favorite guys ( Since he wrote the Notebook ) ~ and it was a Romance.

Finally!!  I needed a chick flick.

Well.. the movie did not disappoint.

But.. it also stressed me out too.

In fact.. we came out of the movie theatre.. and I was silent.

I was re-living many events with my ex-husband.

I had a stomach ache.. and my teeth clenched through many abusive parts of the movie.

It brought back emotions and areas of my past that I kinda didn't want to re-live.

So.. other than the horror I literally felt through some of the story.. I also liked the movie too.

Nothing compared to the Notebook... but then again.. not much does.

I would recommend it -- if you like chick flicks.. and some mystery.

Today I am Grateful for:

Having to sleep with the windows open all night.. because it was so hot!  YES!!

Adding chocolate chips to my banana bread.  -- The only way to eat it.

De-junking my house for a Yard sale soon!  Many items are going.. including my darling white bench!  I'm scaling down on lots of decorations and etc...

Good Visiting Teachers

Tomorrow is Tenney's Birthday.  I can't WAIT.  So many good surprises....

I loved Safe Haven. The ending really surprised me! I'm sorry it was so stressful for you to watch, by bringing back such difficult memories.

I'm so grateful you and your Chad have each other! ♥

I forgot about the abusive relationship in Safe Haven. I guess I should have mentioned it, huh. I am so excited that Tenney is 12 tomorrow. I am so excited to have her and she is such a SWEETHEART!!!

I love your kitchen....I used to have plates above my counters just like yours when I lived in WJ. I miss that.
Not able to do that here.
I'd rather stay up late taking care of a dirty kitchen and lots of dishes (I don't have a dishwasher) rather then to have to face that in the morning.
I am going to try and call you on your birthday...so don't worry about the UNIDENTIFIED NUMBER with a 403 area code. It will be ME

THe kids keep buggin me to watch Safe Haven, but I have such a hard time with chick flicks. Maybe I'll just read the book.

And Happy Birthday to Tenney!! She is a beautiful young woman!
