Flash Back Friday - Tenney

 

12 years ago today.. I became a Mother.

 

Just seeing these pictures that were taken of my little Tenney -- makes me ache to hold her as a Newborn again.

 

When she was born... I instantly loved her so much.. I literally thought my heart could burst.

Tenney has now grown into a Beautiful Young Woman.

 

Today I want to list 12 things about her -- this year.

1- Tenney  is very stylish.  I am amazed at the outfits she puts together every night.  They lay by her bed.. and clothes that I wouldn't even think to go together.. she makes look fabulous.

She likes to do her own hair.. and I am only allowed to help sometimes.

 

2- Tenney is one of my Best Friends.  She talks a lot.. and very fast.. and often.. and gives lots of details.. but I enjoy that she is willing to tell me or text me -- all of the happenings with her relationships with girls and boys at school.  I hope we always stay close.

 

3- Tenney is so compassionate.  She loves to serve.. and isn't apprehensive at all.

I would often find her last summer laying on Grandma Tenney's hospital bed..snuggling.

She watched quite a few movies with her... and was always the first to give her a hug and kiss before bed.

 

4- Tenney is very diligent.  No matter what time she goes to bed at night... she is sure to wake up early enough to get dressed, do her makeup, make her bed.. and eat breakfast.

This was SO not me -- growing up.  I sometimes wonder where she came from with all of her good traits.

 

5- Tenney is a good cleaner and organizer.  She helps me out a lot with the house now.. and it feels so good to know I can count on her -- when I need it.

 

6- Tenney loves to be close to us.. and no matter her size.. she loves to snuggle or climb up on our laps... to be close to us.

 

7- Tenney has been babysitting for neighbors.. and she enjoys it.  She doesn't get to do it as often as she would probably like to.. but she knows.. she is my sitter first.  :)
  I have waited 12 years for this!!!

 

8- Tenney's friends are all in their "boy crazy" state.. and everyday it changes with who is going out with who.  I am happily satisfied that she tells the boys that she won't go out with them because her heart belongs to her fake boyfriend " Harry Styles" from the band " One Direction."

 

9- Tenney loves to be around her family and friends.

 

10- Tenney got a phone in December.. and has been extremely responsible with it.

I don't even have to remind her to turn it in each night.. she just does it.

I have only had to chastise her over it -- only a couple of times.

SO Thankful we disabled the picture texting.

 

11- Tenney is smart. -- But she is also wise.

Some friends from school started to pretend smoking smarties candy.. and she didn't participate.

She knew what they were doing.. wasn't good.

The teachers freaked.

They searched every backpack for smarties candy.

Tenney knew better.. and chose not to participate.

I know she is close to the spirit.

I am thankful everyday for it.. and hope she keeps on choosing the right!

 

 

12- Tenney loves to be tucked in and kissed before bed every night.

I love it.

I hope she never outgrows it.

Today I am Grateful for:

 

I am a Mother to 3 amazing children.

 

Being raised by goodly parents

 

The sun! The Warmth!  The Heat!

 

Chocolate, Banana and Almond Shakes.  The best in the world.

 

Seeing my neighbors out doing yard work.  It warms my heart.
