Valentines Stuff....

This year.. Valentines day was BUSY.

So busy that I didn't feel as I was enjoying the moments as much as I should.

I told Chad that next year we need to "hire out" a Valentine Man... because the kids are too old now.. and watching every step we take.

Both Chad and I almost got caught a few times running back into the house.. and rather than it be fun this year... it was more -- stressful and work to keep up the Family Tradition.

The highlight of my Valentines day was having dinner with my Family.

We were all gathered around the table and I said:

" OK.. Let's all go around and say something we Love about each other."

Yes.. it's cheesy... but SO something we like and do a lot.

It wasn't a surprise to my children.

 Christian started.. and said:

" Mary.. I love you because you are Funny."

And then Mary quickly said:

" Mom... I love you because you help me keep my body clean!"

( It's a line from the movie:  Diary of a Wimpy Kid -- Dog Days.)

We were all laughing out loud.  For a good 10 minutes.

Mary was laughing so hard -- she was crying.

It took us all a while to settle down... because we were in such shock that Mary had such whit.. and funny in her.

I have myself another little comedian in the Family.

The moment was Epic.

Other Happy Things around Valentines Day

Miniature Pink Roses I saw at the store and bought for myself.

I buy a new mini rose every year and plant it in my garden.

This makes me too excited for spring!

My Mom surprised me with this darling Iron Heart stand.

I love it and am grateful for her.. and her co-worker that suggested it looked like something I would adore.

Thank you Marsha and Mom!  It's Darling!

I am grateful for a husband that was willing to help with Valentines boxes this year.

He worked on giving Christian exactly what he wanted.. and Christian was thrilled with his Darth Vader box.  Christian came home on Valentines Day so thrilled because his school class decided to have a contest ( and we had no idea ) and Christian won 1st place!

He was a HAPPY boy!

Tenney and Mary made boxes also... but more for the fun of it.. because Mary's teacher was providing a bag for everyone.  I WISH all teachers would do that.  Take the time to create these fun things at school! :)   Does that make me sound like a Scrooge?

I did a little scavenger hunt for the kids with little gifts for them around the house from Chad and I.

I think they loved the clues and the hunt even more than the presents.

All of the gifts were functional and fun things!  No toys or extra clutter! Woot!

My Favorite "gifts."

Love letters from Chad and the kids.. and surprise Happy mail from Emma.

*LOVE*

I was sad to take down the Valentines tree... and decorations.. but I had to start because I had a baby shower for my cousin Amanda 2 days later.

I made a few tissue pom poms for the shower and figured I would keep them up through Tenney's and my birthdays...  but some friends mentioned that they are Eastery colors-- so why not keep them up till the end of the month?  I think I will!

Today I am Grateful for:

Receiving our Federal Tax return already!  2 bills paid off! *Happy, Happy, Happy!*

A good nights sleep 2 nights in a row

1. - The Mary moment is awesome. She is such a quiet little thing. It's fun to hear that she took you all by surprise with that one.

2. - I LOVE the idea of taking the time to tell everyone what they love about each other. I am going to steal that one for the future.

3. - Love the decorations! How fun that you are accidentally ready for Easter with those... :) Some day I will be a person who decorates my house for holidays. Some day...
