Bits of Randomness

Sees Candy is my Favorite Candy store.

For Christmas I was given a gift card for some Sees... so I went to Fashion Place Mall to get a whole box of  Strawberry Cream ( my favorite ) and as I walked in the mall.. I experienced a most frightening site.

Sees candy was gone.

I think I stood there in shock.. staring for a good 5 minutes.

Some weird clothing store was sitting on the Sees candy site.
With the Sees candy-checked floor.

This was not right!!  I was ready to protest!!

I ran to the nearest vendor and hoped she'd tell me they had moved to another site in the mall...

Nope.  they were gone.

How could they do this to me??

The store has been in that mall since my birth.

It's comfort. Worth the calories.  Family. Traditions. Holidays. Grandparents.
Celestial Tasting. My happy place.

And now.. I was going to have to drive to another farther location to get it.

I came home.. whined on Facebook.. and waited for a week to drive to the new store.

Yesterday.. Chad and I were running a few errands at lunch.. and I begged him to drive to the new Sees.

He of course.. granted my wishes.

Oh happy day when I walked in and saw my favorite candy surroundings.

They gave us our free samples.. and I ordered what I had desired.

... And they were out.

What?????

Nooooo!!!

I seriously debated waiting until they would come in again.. but the thought of driving there in a few days wasn't too exciting to me either.

I ordered a different variety and grabbed a few of there new suckers.

The Sees employee was kind enough to give me a few samples.. and I loved these!

If you love coconut... you must try them.

Chocolate Coconut is the perfect combination.

I decided that these.. and the Butterscotch are the best suckers.

I hope they stick around.

I shared my sadness over Sees moving with my siblings last night at dinner.. and they informed me that Sees Candies prices are going up very soon.

Poop.

My little Mary Caroline loves cooking.

She loves to help me in the kitchen ( when I actually cook ) and loves to watch the Disney movie Ratatouille.

She tells me she is going to be a "cooker" when she grows up.. and I am more than delighted at the thought.

Lately.. all day long.. she plays with her pretend food and then wants us all to eat it.

After 3 days of the kids giving me the look of :
" How much more pretending to eat food do we have to do?"

I gave Mary the idea to feed her dollies.

She loved that idea.

And she plays all day -- creating glorious platters and large amounts of food.

Maybe we need a Family Counsel about Portion control.

We are NOT a perfect family.

I do my best to try and teach my children the best way I know how.. but I never want to come across on my blog as being the perfect family.

We are not.. and we have our share of fighting..yelling, tantrums and disobeying.

But.. we try to be better each day.

All of us.

For Family Home Evening last week.. we had our normal lesson, song, scripture time.. and then we went to the basement to play a game.

After seeing what the kids destroyed did to the basement that day.. I did a on the spot clean up.

Reminded me of my Dad.

I told them if they cleaned up quickly.. we would still play the game.

The kids dragged there feet.. and were not up to cleaning.. so we banished the game for the night.

The kids were not happy.

After the basement was finally clean.. there wasn't enough time for the game anymore.. but still a little time for something... so while the older kids pouted about not having the game.. Mary begged to do a little "craft" for the end of FHE.

We told her.. she could.

So.. she had us draw a picture of our family.. and the cats.. and glue it onto a paper.

We all had fun drawing each other in stick figures.. and then guessing who each of us were.

Then..while holding the glue... I had a spur of the moment idea to show them all what happens when you pour glue on your hands.

It dries.. and you peel it off ( like skin )

And I kinda love to peel and pick at things.

The kids thought this was the most glorious thing ever.

I can't believe none of them learned this at school?

I mean.. Tenney is almost 12!

The rest of the night.. they were obsessed with picking/peeling the glue from my hands.

Good times!

Ya.. it turns out... we are all pickers..peelers.. and wild.

Hide your glue!

ha ha

I have a friend that texts me almost daily.

She always asks.. what are you doing?  Let me guess.. organizing!

Yep.. she is correct.

It's my season.  ~ And I love it.

I am going to be teaching an Organizing class at the Home and Garden club next week.
If you are in or around the Salt Lake area.. you can message me and I can give you details.

If you want help in your home.. I for sure would recommend this class to take first.

It's worth your time.

 Promise!

Today I am Grateful for:

The Snog has cleared in the valley and snow is coming.

Temperatures above freezing.  After two weeks of freezing... it all feels warm.

Dinner with my siblings and Mom at Market Street last night

Christian starts piano lessons tomorrow!

My warm and safe home.

Oh! I'm so sorry about your See's candy.

Sounds like you had a great time picking and peeling though. Ewww.

Strawberry Cream is SCRUMPTIOUS! One of my favorites too!

Our local See's is closed most of the time, but not permanently. They open up for the big holidays, then close again. Very strange.
