I have wanted to chat with people about this Season so much.
Has anyone felt frustrated like I have??
I don't dare talk about my feelings on Facebook because some of my friends are not watching it yet.. so I decided I am going to vent a little about the show on my blog.. as to where it is right now.
1- I feel like I was robbed when it comes to Mary and Matthew's wedding.
Their wedding seemed rushed. Hello... I waited 2 Seasons for this!
Couldn't it have been a little more grand?

I think they have argued and fought more than Chad and I did in the first year of marriage.

Dear Mr. Fellowes. Please bring some sweetness back.
2- As of now... I almost hate every guy on the show.
Which was weird.. because Lord Grantham was my favorite character.. until he was with the servant in Season 2.
Then I screamed at my TV.
But then I kinda forgave him.. and felt happy just loathing Thomas.
As of now.. I feel frustrated with all of the men on the show. Especially Branson.
Can't we go back to just loathing Thomas please??
3- Poor Edith.
I would have cried over her getting jilted at the alter.. but I didn't because someone already spoiled it for me by discussing it on Facebook -- that watched it on-line when the UK aired it.
4- Do not look up "images" on google.. because it SHOWS spoilers.
Epic Fail on my part.
5- I have also learned that for some reason.. people think it's fun to give away spoilers.

She annoys me to no end.

Season 1 will always be my favorite.
Season 3 doesn't even seem like the same show. Since I am not a producer I don't know how to keep things moving is a series, but the feel is different.
LOL about getting out of prison! I agree. The wedding was quick and short, Edith's was longer but def more sad. They get you hooked in everyones personalities, Branson was cruel. I miss seeing Cybil. I still like it even tho it is kindof like waiting for the plot to begin.
LOL! Season 3 is going to be a hard season. But I felt season 2 was hard with the war stuff too. The money that Matthew received drove me crazy that he just wouldn't give it to the estate.
I felt so bad about Edith and her failed marriage. Poor Edith - but I loved how her mother said that trials make you stronger - isn't that the truth.
Last Sunday's Downton Abbey - Loved this Lady Grantham quote: You're a woman with a brain and reasonable ability. Stop whining and find something to do.
I've watched all of season 3 except episode 7 (Sharon downloaded them and brought them over for me to watch - but 7 didn't work). I love watching them much better on my big screen TV then my computer.
I love how season 3 ends and I think this is a needed painful trial/season to move the family forward.
I did NOT like Shirley McClain at all - she annoyed me.
Over all, I still love Downton Abbey - but there will always be drama and forgiveness and growth in the characters.
That's funny about Daisy - but true. I've just never thought about it.
Just wait Ann! You are going to get really frustrated in a bit!
I still love Downton.. it's just bugging me this Season more than the other 2.
Daisy has always bugged.
Sondra.. when Edith was laying on the bed sobbing.. and her Mom was comforting her.. I was sobbing.
Their is beauty in parts and quotes.. I just hate that I feel like I am being minipulated with my feelings for the characters. I want to love them all in spite of their flaws! Well.. except for Daisy.. Thomas and O'Brien.. :)
Don't even get me started on Branson. But I am keeping my mouth taped shut until the American airing of Season 3 is over, because I feel bad when I forget and say things others may not already know.

I agree, I wanted to see the wedding of Matthew and Mary - got robbed there.
I felt sooo bad for Edith; made me cry. I saw that coming though when she said she would make him her life's work...
I actually like Daisy. I like that her character doesn't really have family and shows how she doesn't know a lot about life but is constantly trying to figure it out.
I love Matthew's mom - she's a bit more modern and open minded about people amomg all the stuffy, judgemental ones.
It's a great show. Similar to one in the 70's called Upstairs Downstairs.

I love Mrs. Crawley! ( Matthews Mom ) she has been a favorite of mine since the beginning.
I got Upstairs/Downstairs at a yard sale last summer... I hope to watch all of the seasons soon!
Edith bugs me! She was mean in Season 1 and now we are supposed to feel sorry for her. NOT! She tries too hard and throws herself at men - Not the way to a great relationship. I didn't know she was getting jilted at the alter but I saw it coming. Kind of Karma if you ask me. (Am I mean?).
I am wondering if Bates is actually guilty - Could this be the reason to drag it on so long? Just a suspicion on my part. It would definately add some fire.
I loved the wedding. I didn't really need to see the whole thing. The best part to me was when Mary came downstairs and Carson was more overcome than Lord G. Mary is definately his little girl and I love that! I also adored her dress and headpiece! Swoon! If I could go back...
This season you definately have to work a little harder to love but I like it better than season 2 for sure.

I am anxious to see what will happen with Sybil and Tom with all this unrest going on in Ireland.

Yeah, Mr. Bates situation is getting a little dull and I am a little worried about where it is going.
I think Mary just needs to jump Matthew (tee,hee)
But all in all....nothing is really bothering me about it.

I finally have found a way to watch the show and I am with you with a lot of things. I did feel robbed with Mathew's and Mary's wedding! And yes, they fight way too much. I also thought there was more footage on Edith's wedding than theirs. The Edith thing is just too sad. I was telling Kurt yesterday if they don't give Edith a break and let her find happiness, I am going to be annoyed! I was not happy with her being left at the alter! I almost feel they are taking the Edith thing too far.
I just finished episode 4 and it is so sad about Sybil!
I still like the show but it is different than the first 2 seasons. I was actually very happy with the show when season 2 ended!

Sooooo are you terribly sad about Sybil? It was a hard episode yesterday and I knew it was coming (see it before).
However, I like where the season ends with Brandson.
It was terribly sad that she died - I cried a ton.

Lord Grantham is not on my list of favorite characters, hasn't been since the thing with the maid.
Mary is starting to annoy me. She wants Matthew to put his money into the estate but get mad when he tries to changes the way things are done. I agree that the chemistry between them seem to be lacking.
I head to the loo when the show goes to Anna and Bates.
Unfortunately, I haven't seen season 1. Got hooked during season 2 and I don't know what Edith was like in the earlier episodes but I do like her. I do not like how her father dismisses her as if she is not important.
And that is my 2 bits on the subject.
I'm so disappointed by the spoilers that happened in the fall. I got mine from Pinterest and unfollowed the people who were giving it all away, but still, it really did kind of ruin it. I really wish that PBS would air the show at the same time around the world. They CAN do it, why won't they??
I agree with so many of your points! There was not enough of Mary and Matthew's wedding. The Bates/Anna storyline needs to get resolved soon. The jail scenes with Bates are pretty dry. Just release him already and let him go back to Downton! And yes, Daisy is pretty annoying too!
