Over the weekend.....
We had lots of Rain that turned into SNOW!
Looking out at the mountains is the only place I enjoy to see it.
I am pretty bah-hum-bug when it comes to it.
Counting down the days until Spring.....
Over the weekend....
An Appraiser came over pretty early Saturday morning.. as we are hoping to re-finance our house.
We woke up early to make the beds... and after he left... I walked around.... and couldn't find a single thing to do.
All of the dishes, laundry, and chores were all finished.
The house was in complete order.
I felt so.... strange.
Chad proclaimed it was awesome.
That hasn't happened in a really long time.. but I admit.. I didn't know what to do with myself.
I'm ALWAYS doing something.
I thought about calling someone to help them organize... but instead.. we stayed "in" and watched movies all afternoon.
I was lazy.
It felt weird.
Over the weekend.....
Chad and I were driving down to Lehi for my Grandpa's 90th Birthday party... and we were all alone.
It was just the two of us... and I felt so happy and content sitting there by him.
I remember when we were first married and we were observing an old couple sitting in a restaurant.
They were not talking... just eating.
I was quick to judge.. and I said to Chad: " That I hoped we would never be boring to each other. -- That we would always have something to say to each other..."
I felt bad for the couple.
Well... now it's been almost 13 years since we got married.
I leaned over and turned off the radio/noise.
I sat and " Enjoyed the Silence."
-- You all know what this means if you have children surrounding you all the time.
We had a wonderful drive.. and my heart was full.
It made me think of that old couple.
Perhaps they were just content with each others company-- and enjoying the silence as well.
Maybe.
Over the weekend....
I have been trying to think of Organizing posts to share on my blog.
I am going to discuss:

It was so good to sit and chat with you last night!! You always make me laugh so hard! I got home and looked ay my mess of bills and thought, I should have asked Ann how to organize my mail/bills! I just need better containers I think. The one I have now just isn't functional. I want something by the door that is fast and efficient and things won't get lost!! Just some ideas of different in/out paper trays would be helpful. You are the best! :)
Having everything in order and nothing to do is a dream of mine that I keep trying to make a reality. I'm glad it was a reality for you!
I probably won't get to watch the third episode of Downton until tomorrow, but now I can't wait to see it after what you wrote.
Your updated family pictures in your sidebar are really nice! Your family is beautiful.
Intersting that years ago, Dave and I had the same thought when observing an older couple at a restaurant. Now we ARE the older couple, and yes, we sometimes (often) just enjoy being together and the beauty of silence and one another.
How fun! Some time with nothing to do. I just finished with an appraiser this morning! I'm wanting some lower interest!
Ya, I love last night's episode too! I just wish Matthew and Mary would just KISS!!!!!
Yes, those quite times of silence and companionship are awesome!
Legos! Woo-hoo! I am a total nerd but I am so excited to see how you organize them. My boys got so many for Christmas and they drive me nuts. Fortunately I can keep them mostly contained to the toy room.
Enjoy your "lazy" weekend. Those don't come around very often at all!
Yeah, toys. All toys. How to store, that's easy to put away and doesn't take up much room. And yes, silence is AMAZING!!! :)
I agree, I don't think there is anything wrong with enjoying the company of your spouse in silence, it's when I see couples out together and each of them are tied to their phones. I'm thinking 'really?'
I organized our legos by giving them to the neighbors! HA!! No worries, the boys had long since outgrown them.
Mike and I usually people watch when we are out to eat or try to listen to other's conversations. I too love the silence! It's okay, it's love!
Those lazy weekends can be as good as paid-for therapy! Good for you. I hope your appraisal comes back better than ours. We came in about 20K less than we needed. Seriously. :(
After spending a lot of years with someone, silent communication is powerful
Sounds like you had a really good weekend...it's ok to be lazy once in awhile.
Heck, I'm lazy most of the time (tee, hee)
But I do get up and exercise in the morning now. Yay for me.
how cool that your grandpa is 90. I think Barry's mom will hit 90, as she is 88 right now and fit as a fiddle.
Having EVERYTHING done is awesome! We just refinanced our house, though is wasn't so lovely when the appraiser came. He had the nerve to show up early--maybe on purpose.
I had a similar experience watching an elderly couple when I was younger. I didn't get it then either, but now I know silence can be nice. :)
That is great you were able to relax for once.
I think it is wonderful you had a great time with just you and Chad!
Good for you to keep exercising!
Organizing school papers and LEGO's could sure help me out!
