Happy Changes to the Girls Room - Part 2

When I did my post yesterday... I realized I had left out quite a few pictures.
Rather than go through and re-arrange it all.. I just decided to make an extra post.

**********

With all of the changes we made... the room actually seems more spacious.

Tenney loves that it looks more "grown up" and feminine.
I will admit.. I am grateful she likes the same styles that I do.
-- It makes me really happy actually.

She keeps begging to have a chandelier in her room too.
-- That's going to be a while... unless I'm extra lucky at Yard Sales this year.  :)

We are also going to be on the lookout for a darling throw pillow for each of their beds.
I am just grateful Tenney chose on her own to keep all of her stuffed animal cats on the shelf now -- rather than her bed like before!

I love Rose Prints... and this Vintage print ties in really well with the Bed spreads.

We are a family of collectors.

How do you keep Collections from going overboard?  You keep them to one shelf ( or space ) and then when that shelf or space is full.. you then refer to the "one in and one out" rule.

Tenney LOVES the Beach.. and to collect sea shells.. so we filled a vase with the little ones.. and the big ones she has displayed.

If you don't have room to show your collections... are they really worth storing and taking up space?

Tenney also loves to collect Cats.  ( I am sure she would collect real ones too -- if we would let her. )  Because the shelf is so full now.. if she begs for one.. I tell her she can purchase it.. but one at home has to go.  This may sound harsh to many of you... but it keeps my kids thinking about space... and the purchases they make.

I'm teaching them young to avoid Hoarding.  :)

The Doll shelf is upon the top shelf... because they are more sentimental.

Under the shelves is where Tenney keeps her American Girl Dolls.

And next to the American Girl space... we bought my favorite plastic drawers to store the American Girl doll Clothes, shoes and Accessories.

The only "toys" my girls have in their room is the American Girl stuff.

Kids really do feel "overwhelmed" when they have too much stuff -- especially in their room.

Simplify it.

Make it a place that gives them peace and rest.

Today I am Grateful for:

Grandma Tenney made it through her Hip Surgery.
Lots of Days home with my kids this week
Good Health so far this year ( knock on wood )
Watching Cinderella with Mary
Reading the Book of Mormon as a Family every night

So I checked out both posts and I have to tell you that their room is beautiful! And fun, that they will still share a room.

I just caught up on both posts Ann and the room looks darling!
It actually reminds me alot of my room growing up. I probably already told you that I had pink everything and the white french provincial furniture.
The girls sound like they are super happy with it -which is the best part!!!

I don't comment often, but just wanted to tell you that I read each and every post and appreciate the happiness you find in the little things in life. I hope you are having a wonderful year so far!

Everything is wonderful! And the "one in and one out" rule is super smart!
