Happy 60 years Mom!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!!

My Mom is one that doesn't love to be fussed over.

But she needs to be fussed over.

Today as she turns 60 years old... I want to share 60 things about her.

- She was given the Nickname " January Blue-eyed blond " by her Daddy.. and I think I have heard him call her that every year since I can remember.

- Mom's Happiest Face and Place is San Diego.

- Mom reads more books than any single person I have ever known.  A book is just as important as her purse -- when leaving the house.

- Mom has the greatest collection of old children's books-- than anywhere I have EVER seen.

- Mom is a fabulous cook.

- Mom hates Seafood.

- Mom loves BYU sports.  Especially Football.

- Mom had a variety of animals growing up in CA -- including a spider monkey.

- Mom's play land is -- and has always been The Beach.

- Only for the love of Dad -- is why Mom moved from CA for Utah.

- Mom and Dad met at Brigham Young University -- in German class.

- When I was little.. and they didn't want us to know what they were saying.. they would speak German.  Now the family does the same thing-- only with Russian.  I hate it.

- Mom loves the Ocean.. and has swam with all sorts of sea life including Sharks and Seals.

- La Jolla Cove and La Jolla Shores have always been family Favorites.

- I have always loved my Mom's tastes in Music.  I remember LOVING to look through all of her records when I was young.  She and my Father taught us to love a great variety of music.

- Mom loves a good action movie.

- Mom also loves a good mystery.

- I have always thought my Mom was beautiful.. even when she didn't.

- My Mom has a wonderful way of unconditionally loving others.

- Mom is a hard worker.. and always gives 110% to any task.

- Mom is an excellent Mother.  She made me desire to be a Stay at Home Mom -- because of the Love and compassion I felt from her.  She went to work outside of the home when I was in the 9th grade.. and I remember feeling very sad.  I always loved her home.

- Mom can play the Organ and Piano.. and is an excellent Singer.

- Mom gave up her life here in the states... and left a couple of children behind to Serve the Lord in the Land of Russia with my Dad.. as Mission Presidents between 1997-2000.  She then became a Mother to many hundreds of Missionaries.

- My Mother didn't NEED to learn Russian in the 3 years she was there.. but chose to.

- Mom fed many Apostles of the church dinner while serving there.

- Mom loved Russia -- right along with Dad.. and even more so-- the people there.

- Mom and Dad were always the greatest examples of how spouses should treat each other.

- Even though my parents had other friends... they always preferred to be with each other most.

- Mom sacrificed a lot to make my Dad happy.

- Mom learned to love and enjoy the things Dad loved.  She always thought of him first.

Dad was always beaming over his "California Girl."

- Mom was there for all three of my children's births.

- Mom will do anything for her family.

- If we are stumped on a Homework problem.. we don't use Google.. we call Mom.

- Mom has all of us over for Dinner once a Month.  It's crazy... but fun.

- Mom went through my Dad's illness with much Grace.

- Mom was a Super Woman during Dad's last months.  Waiting on him.. making decisions... organizing his medications.. keeping him calm and as happy as possible.. and giving him her all.

- Mom went through the Greatest Trial-- so far in her life... and is a great example.

- Mom is learning to live a New Life without her favorite person here anymore.  Even though I can see how much it hurts her.. every time we are together.... she in still moving forward with Faith.

- My Mom and Dad were Sealed for time and All Eternity in the Temple.  This makes it possible for all of us to be together again one day... and next to her giving me life... it is the second greatest gift that she gave me.  Loving my Father...
