Favorite Christmas Music of 2011

What has been playing everyday at my house?

Mindy Gledhill's Winter Moon.

Although I love this CD much... if I try to put something else on to listen too...my 10 year old Tenney comes and puts it back onto this.  I am not sure what I love more.  The music.. or the fact that  the song "Winter Moon" is the only one I have EVER heard my shy singing daughter sing from the top of her lungs.

I hope to record it somehow.. without her knowledge.. because I love her singing it that much.

If you don't own Mindy Gledhill's music.. what are you waiting for?

I received her album "Anchor" for Christmas last year.. and it is one of my favorite "must listen to " Cd's.

Mindy's music is always Happy, Pure,  Joyful, and full of simplicity and sparkle.

I LOVE IT.  I love everything she creates.
( Well.. maybe except for the video of Winter Moon with the Muppets. )

The other "favorite" Christmas album of the year goes to:

 " A very She & Him Christmas."

My cousin Megan told me that it was her favorite of the year.. so I ran and purchased a copy without even listening to a single song.  ( I trust Megan.) -- And of course I was not disappointed.

I love Zooey Deschanel.

I love her sister Emily that I watch on the TV show "Bones."

I loved Zooey on the movie "Elf" and this album did not disappoint.

I love the Vintage feel to it... and I am starting to think that between Mindy Gledhill.. Matt and Zooey and my old " Christmas with Gisele " I pretty much prefer a Vintage Christmas sound.

With the exception of Josh Groban and The Mormon Tabernacle Choir of course....

What else has filled me with JOY this Christmas season??

Of course it would be the "Killers" and of course I am obsessed.. and proud of it.

The Killers " Cowboy Christmas Ball " is hilarious.

Just like the other 7 Killers Christmas songs.. it is filled with silly-ness and joy.

And isn't the season supposed to be Jolly??
When I watched the video.. I smiled and laughed the whole way through seeing my Favorite Brandon pretending to be a Cowboy.. and watching them of course mix " Cowboys and Aliens."

I love that this Song is Happy.
I love Brandon's Jacket
I love that all proceeds go to help RED
I love that they don't mind being silly one bit
I love the Robot Break Dancing
I love that they made this song from the Lyrics of a 1890 poem of the same name.

I just LOVE the KILLERS and BRANDON FLOWERS!!!!!

The End.

What is your Favorite Christmas Album of 2011??

Today I am Grateful for:

Friends that share there talents with me.
Music that touches my soul.
My Grandpa and Grandma Tenney
Christmas goodies
Those that have the gift of Music and share it.

The She and Him album is on my list to buy this year. I'm a little slow and need to hurry up before the season is over! I just can't get enough of those Deschanel sisters. :)

My favorite, this year and always, is The Messiah... of course I listen to my cd of it all year long, so I know all the words to all the songs. LOL. If I don't get to a Messiah "sing-in" then it simply isn't Christmas. There's NOTHING else on earth like the spirit that fills a Messiah sing-in. I wish I could make everyone go to one. It's an experience you would never forget. When you stand up to sing the Hallelujah chorus (and others) with a few hundred other people, all at the top of their lungs, orchestra playing, sound echoing off the walls... your spirit tries to jump out of your body. Pure JOY. The end. :)

Oh and I LOVE Zoey too... I should check out that album. :)oh and no one hears anyone else at a sing in, because everyone is singing as loud as they can. LOL.

I love listening to the mix of music on the radio. We have one station that just plays Christmas song after Christmas song new and old and I love it!

Forever and always my very, very, most absolute favorite Christmas Album of all time is by Johnny Mathis - To me he sings Christmas like no one else.

2nd favorite is always and forever The Forgotten Carols :-D

I love Christmas music in all their varieties.

Wait! Zooey was in Elf? THAT WAS HER???? wow, the things I lean each day.

My all time favorite is the Forgotten Carols. We saw it many years ago, and made it a family tradition since it fell on our Family Anniversary Day and it symbolized our "together forever"

However, his son got involved and changed it around adding characters and losing the narration. Didn't love it so much. Now I just listen to the CD and imagine how it used to be and relish in the feelings.

I love Justin Beiber's Christmas album...I love the Mistletoe song the most. I know I'm a dork. I will have to get Mindy's CD and the others too! I love new Christmas music but I listen to Pandora a lot too and that is free and has such a variety!

I got to hear Mindy at the CBC last year, but I haven't bought the music.

I'm afraid I don't step outside my box when it comes to Christmas music. I'm Mannheim Steamroller and Windham Hill.
I love the quiet peaceful feeling that it gives me.

I have nothing to offer concerning the 2012 Christmas music scene, but Mindy G is sublime.

I'm so not up with my Christmas music, but I love Josh Groban around Christmas and I listen to that "All I want for Christmas" song from Mariah Carey about a thousand times, though not the Justin Beiber version.

I also have a shy daughter who occasionally will belt it out. :)

I love Mindy Gledhill. I don't have this album but I think it would be one I'd listen to a lot! I've heard that She and Him is a good album too. Is she the girl on Elf or am I mistaken?
I just noticed that Wendy has a Neil Diamond Christmas album? Seriously? He's my least favorite Christmas singer. (Of course Wendy didn't say he's her favorite, just that she has it) Give me Michael Crawford singing O Holy Night and I'm one happy old lady!

There's something about Christmas music that makes me happy. I really could listen to most of it all year long.

mindy will be here with us on the 17th! cannot wait. she was here with us last fall as well, while promoting "anchor" and we've missed her ever since! NGL, i so actually loved mindy's video with the wannabe muppets. but then again i'm a jim henson addict. this morning alone i've watched 3 jim henson shows, and am contemplating putting in emmet otter's jug band Christmas for the afternoon! :) but yeah, and the she & him album has been all the rage around these parts as well.
i'm also itching to get my hands on michael buble's new Christmas album, and i'm LOVING sugarland's rendition of "i'm getting nuthin' for Christmas" from last year (or the year before's album)! still my most fave Christmas song (besides a close #2 of "i want a hippopotamus for Christmas") is "breath of Heaven" by amy grant. i'm pretty sure it will ALWAYS be my fave. :) so, that's my report. ::hugs::

I just barely discovered Mindy Gledhill. I was trying to find music for our girls camp slide show and I went on dessert book web site at their music selection. I looked her up and she has a great voice! I had Kurt listen to her and he agreed.

I don't listen to music very often but I do around Christmas. I always listen to a Christmas album I listen to as a child, "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." I also listen to Elvis's Christmas music and of course my favorite is Josh Groban!

I love Clay Akien's "Mary Did You Know!"

I listen to a lot of the old stuff.

I pretty much only enjoy male voices! I can listen to my Christmas CD's by Josh Groban, Michael Buble and David Archuleta over and over and over again!

And "Men of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir" - AMAZING!
